It’s still very hard for me to come out to my parents. But I’m going to be open to them when I have a husband or partner, and I believe that they will still love me.

Zai Oo comes from an ethnic minority group in Myanmar and he explains how living as a gay man is easier in a big city like in Yangon, where he is surrounded by very supportive friends. In the past, he experienced discrimination in his workplace for being identified as an LGBTI person and decided to leave his job for this reason. He decided to talk in front of the camera hoping he will no longer have to apologize for hiding his sexuality.
